Hazard Communication

National Safety Council's GHS for Hazard Communication is newly revised to incorporate the GHS standard. It is designed to protect employees from hazardous chemicals used or stored in the workplace. This program provides an easy and effective way to communicate the new hazard standards while engaging all employees in the continuous improvement of their safety culture.

A compliance schedule was created by OSHA for the new requirements.  The compliance date that most affects employers of all types is cited in 1910.1200(j)(1): “Employers SHALL train employees regarding new label elements and Safety Data Sheet format by December 1, 2013.”
